Frequently Asked Questions

How is the name Chérubin pronounced?

It’s pronounced CHAIR-uh-bin and, gently translated, means “little angel” in French.

Where are Chérubin moccasins made?

The name Chérubin is an hommage to our home town of Sainte Geneviève, Missouri, where our handmade leather moccasins are made. Ste. Gen (as the locals call it) is a charming French settlement town (est. 1735) located on the Mississippi river, 60 miles south of St. Louis.

How do I determine which size to purchase for my child?

Easy. Just measure your little cherub’s foot from heel to big toe and see where it falls on our Sizing Guide chart. Adding a little room-to-grow is always a good idea. We want you to enjoy your moccasins for as long as possible before you move on to the next size up.

How do I care for my Chérubin handmade leather moccasins?

A gentle wipe with mild soap and water immediately followed by a dry cloth should do the trick.

What type of leather do you use?

We use 100% American made, high quality genuine leather for all our Chérubin moccasins. Period.

Did I get a pair with two left feet?

Not at all. Our handmade leather moccasin pattern is the same for both feet. Over time and after some wear, a true right and left will emerge that mimics your little cherub’s feet.

I have a crawling baby and the color on the toe of the shoe seems to be wearing off a little bit. Is this normal?

Yes. The color may wear off slightly on the toe if your little cherub is crawling or starting to walk and dragging his or her toes on the ground. It’s the nature of leather and completely normal.

Can I find Chérubin moccasins in a store?

No. Our moccasins are lovingly made in Sainte Geneviève, Missouri, and sold direct to consumers exclusively online.
